This is support page for the iPhone App "Langton's Ant".
What is Langton's Ant?
Langton's ant is a two-dimensional Turing machine with a very simple set of rules but complicated emergent behavior. It was invented by Chris Langton in 1986. (Wikipedia:Langton's Ant)
This app simulates four ants arranged in the point symmetry. The ant forms the periodic pattern.
Usage
- Reflesh
- Tap the button at left side of toolbar
. Or double tap on screen.
- Animation speed
- Adjust the slider on toolbar
. If you set left end, animation will pause.
- Show setting view
- Tap the button at right side of toolbar.
Usage of Setting View
You could select bellow options at the setting view.
- Cell Size
- Size of each cell. 1, 2, 5 or 10 pixel.
- Alpha Blending
- If you select ON, Langton's ants paint the screen with translucence color.
- Random Noise
- If you select ON, random noise is added to the initial state.
- Background
- You can select BLACK or WHITE for background color.
- Suppress Idle Lock
- If you select ON, application suppress idle lock.
